Somme 100 parade 1 July

The following road closures and restrictions will be in place on Friday 1 July during the event to commemorate the centenary of the Battle of the Somme.

Please note that although the times and routes listed below were correct at the time of publishing, they may be subject to change without further notice.

From 7am-4pm

Peter Street/Oxford Street:  Single-lane closure (from Deansgate through to Oxford Street/George Street)

Museum Street:  Access only to private car parks in buildings (from Windmill Street to Peter Street)

Mount Street:  Closed (from Peter Street to Southmill Street)

Bootle Steet:  Access only to private car parks (from Southmill Street to Mount Street)

Central Street: Access only to Friends Meeting House car park facilitated off Southmill Street (from Mount Street to Southmill Street)

Cateaton Street: Management of business deliveries throughout closure (from Victoria Street to Hanging Ditch)

From 10am-4pm

Oxford Street/Peter Street:  Closed with access out from George Street towards Portland Street (from Portland Street through to Southmill Street)

Albert Square:  Service route for deliveries will be closed (at the junction with Lloyd Street/Southmill Steet)

Fennel Street:  Closed (from Corporation Street to Cathedral Street)

Long Millgate: Access only to Chetham’s School of Music through main entrance (from Todd Street to Fennel Street)

From 10.30am-4pm

King Street and John Dalton Street:  All immediate side roads closed (through to Bridge Street)

From 11am-4pm

Deansgate:  Closed (from the junction of Quay Street to the Cathedral, including all approach roads)
